Dr. Fry can help you have a confident smile by gently using a diamond drill bit to shape, smooth and contour your teeth. By slightly shaving the obtrusive edges of your front teeth they not only look straighter, but often times are even stronger. The inclisial (bottom) edge of your front teeth are sometimes thin, brittle and weak, often times causing cracking. By slightly shortening the tooth, the inclisial edge becomes thicker and more stable.  

This process doesn't cause tooth sensitivity because this shaping only removes the top 1 tenth (.01) of a millimeter. This means the top 2 millimeters of enamel, the protective outer layer, stays fully intact and strong. Enamel is a mineral that body makes and it is the second hardest substance on earth, just after diamond. This super strong material is what makes your teeth durable and strong, while protecting the softer denton, cementum and pulp inside of tooth. The nerves are stored in the pulp, along with blood vessels and connective tissues. This is the only living part of your tooth.
